Footings carry the building
The footing is the concrete strip under every wall. It spreads the weight of the building onto the ground. Everything above a footing moves when the footing moves, so this is not the spot to save a few dollars. PressCrete digs, forms and pours footings for builders.
How we pour footings
- Layout. The lines come off the plan and get marked on the ground.
- Dig. Trenches are cut to the depth and width the plan and the code call for.
- Form and steel. Forms where the ground will not hold a clean edge, then rebar set so it sits in the middle of the concrete.
- Pour. By truck where a truck can reach, by pump where it cannot.
Inside a framed building
Some footings get poured after the shell is up, for an interior wall, a new piece of equipment, or an addition. Our photos show concrete going into an interior footing trench inside a framed building, and a braced wall form being filled inside a plant. When a truck cannot get in, a pump carries the concrete to the trench.

What is a footing?

How deep does a footing go?
Deep enough that frost cannot get under it, and wide enough for the load. The exact depth and width come from the building code and the plan for your county. We pour to the plan.

Yes. We have poured footings inside framed buildings and along interior walls. When a truck cannot get in, a pump carries the concrete to the trench.
